Plavis N

Plavis® N is an unfilled, high-performance aromatic polyimide known for its exceptional thermal stability, mechanical strength, and electrical insulation properties, ability to withstand extreme temperatures, resist wear, and maintain dimensional stability under load, Plavis N is used across several demanding industries

  • Superior Thermal Performance: It has a continuous service temperature of 300°C (572°F) and can withstand even higher temperatures for short durations. This makes it suitable for applications like oven rollers and high-heat test sockets.
  • Excellent Mechanical Strength at Elevated Temperatures: Unlike many plastics that soften, Plavis N retains high tensile and flexural strength even at 260°C (500°F) and does not crack or creep under load. This is critical for components like thrust washers and valve seats.
  • Exceptional Wear and Friction Properties: It is an ideal material for non-lubricated bearings, bushings, and seal rings.
  • Low Outgassing and High Purity: It has one of the lowest outgassing rates of any plastic, making it safe for use in high-vacuum environments such as semiconductor processing chambers.
  • Excellent Electrical Insulation: With volume resistivity up to 10¹⁸ ohm-cm, it is a perfect electrical and thermal insulator for applications like plasma cutting torch parts and CVD chamber inserts.
  • Outstanding Radiation Resistance: It offers superior resistance to radiation, suitable for specific scientific and industrial applications.
